The Alimara Awards recognize the fourteen best tourism promotion campaigns, national and international.

Let’s have confetti,flowers and cava because today La Rambla Barcelona has a lot to celebrate! The project has been recognized with the Alimara in Tourist Innovation award. These awards, which have celebrated their XXXIV edition, are a reference in national and international tourism scene. They also recognize the effort and quality of the material presented. It is, undoubtedly, another stimulus to continue bringing La Rambla to locals and travelers and continue spreading the story and best kept secrets of the street.

The Alimara night brought together 400 people linked to the Catalan Administration, business, gastronomy and hotels. Journalist Josep Puigbó led the event, which applauded the work of the fourteen best national and international tourism promotion campaigns. Palau Moja and Associació d’Amics, Veïns i Comerciants of La Rambla and Plaça Catalunya (Friends of La Rambla and Plaça de Catalunya) were awarded by the initiative Welcome to La Rambla Barcelona, the most(un)known street of Barcelona. The jury valued the fact of gathering three digital platforms in the same space-we segment our content for a family, millennial and foreign audience-and innovation in promoting a traditional space of the city, as well as its projection of the future.

Alimara Awards

The XXXIV edition of the Alimara Awards has studied 45  candidatures from the tourism, hotel, gastronomic sector, among other related areas. This year, three major categories have been awarded: Tourist Innovation, Tourist Communication and Responsible and Sustainable Tourism.

In the first place, apart from La Rambla Barcelona, ​​the TUNA TOUR campaign of Tuna Tour Grup Balfegó and SMART.DATA ANDALUCÍA, by the Tourism and Sports Council of the Regional Government of Andalusia. The Tourist Communication award went to All those food market , ​​the BBVA Tour & EL CELLER DE CAN ROCA and the campaigns of New Costa Dorada website, Cycling Costa Dorada and Costa Dorada and Ebro Lands Tourist Map. Finally, the Alimara Award for in Responsible and Sustainable Tourism was given to BTA’s Better Places Program made by The Travel Association, Commitment to BIOSPHERE Sustainability, promoted by Diputación de Barcelona and Vive la Posidònia, by the Ibiza Council.

Other condecorations were the Alimara CAT Award, which was won by Catalunya en ruta #entretotsfemturisme from Femturisme.cat, the CETT Alimara Mass Media to El Foraster (the foreigner) a TV program of Televisió de Catalunya and the CETT Special Alimara for Tarannà Viatges amb sentit. CETT students prized Vueling’s We Love Christmas campaign. Finally, as a special ocasion, an In Memoriam award was given to Mr. Ramón Bagó i Agulló, President of Grup Serhs and Saló Internacional del Turisme (International Tourist Salon).
