On September 16th bargain hunters have a date with Fleadonia, one of the most popular street markets in Barcelona.
If you haven’t found anything during Summer sales, don’t surrender. There is a new edition of one of the coolest street markets in Barcelona this weekend. It is called Fleadonia and usually organized on first Sundays of the month at Plaça de Salvador SeguÃ. That is, at El Raval neighbourhood.
Going to Fleadonia is living a Sunday surrounded by vintage clothes, new artisans, rare objects, artists and live concerts. Furthermore, this event also seeks to promote sustainable consumption, attract local producers and help people without resources. All in all, it is composed by a hundred parades where you can find everything: from 60’s shoes and old cameras to game boys or antique furniture. All this at an affordable price, of course.
Fleadonia was born in 2012 Â as an initiative held by Freedonia Cultural Association. The goal was becoming a meeting point to enjoy Raval neighbourhood and sending a message of awareness to an increasingly consumer society. As a consequence, they soon joined forces with Flea Market, a similar market with the same philosophy. Â
Currently, both Fleadonia and the Flea Markets are two of the most popular street markets in Barcelona. They are, definitely, the perfect opportunity to enjoy the cultural life and neighborhood of Raval. Don’t let bad weather spoil a good plan.
