Sunset in Barcelona is one of the most magical moments of the day. Whether you’re shopping or walking through La Rambla, when the sky is dyed in gold and purple, it is impossible not to stop to admire it. Moreover, there are certain spots where this becomes a masterpiece of nature. These are some of them. Are we missing one?
Columbus Monument
Located at the end of La Rambla, it is one of the most popular viewpoints to watch the sunset in Barcelona. You access this tiny space by one of the oldest elevators in the city. It offers a beautiful panorama of Montjuïc, Barceloneta beach and, of course, Las Ramblas.
Port Vell
In front of the Columbus Monument there is the oldest area of Barcelona’s port, ​​Port Vell. It is a perfect place to walk with that special one, sit on the dock to see the boats and, of course, enjoying the end of the day.
Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya
The terrace of the National Art Museum of Catalonia  is always full of people since it offers a wonderful view of Tibidabo, Font Magica and the imposing Plaza de Espanya, the second largest square in Spain. You can get to this popular area by taking Metro Line 3 in Liceu or Catalunya.
Montjuïc Olympic Ring
It was built for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona to embrace to stadiums. It still keeps the strength and emotion of that historic moment for the Catalan capital. More than twenty years later, it imposes the same respect as lighting ceremony of the Olympic Torch. For that reason, enjoying the sunset from here is remembering those historical moments.
Barceloneta Beach
Yes, we know: Barceloneta beach is not the quietest place in the world. But it has several reasons to be of the most photographed spots in Barcelona. Now that winter empties the promenade, it is a good moment to lose yourself on the beach, admire the enormous sand castles they build and chill out with the sound of the waves.
Park Güell
The iconic relationship between Eusebi Güell and Gaudà began in La Rambla, when the industrialist commissioned the construction of Palau Güell. He was so impressed with the result that he assigned the architect the design of Colonia Güell, Finca Güell and, of course, the most famous park in Barcelona. Sit in the comfortable and wavy bank designed by Gaudi and enjoy the sunset. The fact of the sun dissappearing behind these Hansel and Gretel style houses at the entrance is magic.
Bunkers del carmel
This area became trendy three years ago as one of the must see attractions in Barcelona. Its real name is Turó de La Rovira viewpoint but it is known as Carmel bunkers because of the ruins of the cannons and anti-drift batteries that were used during the Spanish Civil War. Visiting these remains is recreate one of the saddest episodes in the history of Barcelona. In fact, the view of the city is so complete that it is understood why this point was used to get protected from the enemy.
