How to enjoy Barcelona April Fair as if you were in Seville

Half Andalusia is better than none. That’s why there’s a Barcelona April Fair to feel like in the south of Spain. Here some plans to enjoy it.

If Barcelona won’t come to Seville, then let’s take Seville to Barcelona. Yes, the Catalan capital also smells like pescaíto frito (fried fish), Andalusian gazpacho and sevillanas. Despite not having the free tapa tradition, Barcelona April Fair is one of the basics of this month. Here some plans to enjoy as if you were in Seville.

Catalonia April Fair

From April 27th to May 6th,Parc del Fòrum to celebrate the 47th edition of the Catalonia April Fair. As every year, there’ll be a portico of lights, a flamenco fashion display and gastronomy contest. Moreover, there’s also a gala and a special concert hosted by Radiolé (Spanish radio station specialized in flamenco, sevillanas and rumba). According to the organizers, this April Fair is going to be more Andalusian than ever. There’s no excuse.

Rebujito clubs

Rebujito is a typical Andalusian cocktail made with Sherry and soft drinks. Watch out! It’s easy to get dizzy after some shots. You don’t need to travel to Seville to experience this personally. There’s rebujito at Els Sortidors del Parlament bar (Parlament 53, near Palau Güell) and Quillo Bar (carrer del Rec Comtal, 2, in El Born).

Andalusian Tapas

Pescaíto frito, gazpacho, oxtail, aubergines with honey … Andalusian tapas are mouth watering. Anyway, you can try them very close to La Rambla at bars like La Chana (carrer of  Poeta Cabanyes, 8), Nervión (carrer de la Princesa, 2) or Taverna el Suculent (Rambla del Raval, 39).

Flamenco shows

If you are one of those who appreciate the sound of a Spanish guitar, don’t miss these live Andalusian music bars. At Tablao Flamenco Cordobés (La Rambla), you’ll eat to death as well as enjoying a live dancing show. Very clore, at Plaça Reial, there’s Los Tarantos, a tablao founded in 1963 that has hosted the most acclaimed artists of the genre. Finally, you can find 23 Robadors in El Raval, a musical bar that organizes jazz, flamenco and jam sessions.
